ANILINE LEATHER
Leather that hasits grain surface substantially intact which is dyed but has not received a pigmented coating. The grain layer extends from the grain surface to the hair roats .
SEMI ANILINE LEATHER
Leather whose natural surface has not been removed before applying a surface coating containing a small amount of pigment althought an artificial pattern is often embossed into the surface aniway .
CORRECTED GRAIN LEATHER
Leather which has been buffed or sanded to remove surface imperfections before having a surface coating applyed containing pigment . An artificial grain pattern is usually embossed into the surface .
PULL UP LEATHER
Describes the behavior of leather that has been treated with oils, waxes and dyes in such a way that when the leather is pulled or stretched (i.e. on upholstery ) the finish becomes lighter in the stretched areas . Its considered a mark of highquality.
VINTAGE LEATHER
Mostly in the category of aniline , pull up and nubuk leathers , its caracteristics are aged looks some times also intencional showing peeling or craking .

NUBUK LEATHER
Its top-grain leather that has been sanded or buffed on the grain side or outside to give a slight nap of short protein fibers , producing a velvet like surface . It is usually from cattle hides but deerskin and lambskin nubuk . Nubuk leathers are noted from their exceptional softness. Nubuk leather can be dyed in a varaiety of colors and treated for a selection of special finishes such as distresses , antiqued or shrunken effects .
METALLIC LEATHER
In the category of semi aniline and corrected grain leather , finished with a metallic or pearl effect .
SPECIAL EMBOSSED LEATHER
Available in many designs and finishes , its possible to apply to all categories of leather .
BICAST ( P.U.) LEATHER
Its a split leather with a layer of Polyurethan applied to the surface and than embossed .
Split leather
Its the result of splitting leather into layers , a split has no natural grain surface and may be buffed before having a surface coating applied for than to be embossed with an aditional grain pattern to resemble grain leather , a finished split is not as strong as a grain leather . Splits offen are used in combination with corrected grain leather and semi aniline leather .
